Landscapes
At 14 years of age my NYC parents sent me to summer in California with my relatives, avid outdoors people. Along with two other families we went to the Sierra Nevada on a 10- day mule pack trip. Without proper footwear or clothes, despite the intense sun, early snowfall and animals in my tent I was hooked on nature.
I photograph my travels with my husband which often are guided by nature whether by back packing, hiking or a simple walk in the woods. As a mixed media artist I pick up materials everywhere I go; handfuls of forest floor, pieces of wood or rusted metals.
Combined with the inspirational vistas that nature affords I am very much attuned to the passage of time and the changes and fragility of life which are reflected in this group of work.
